The Windsor Theatre Development Corporation has selected Pro Wall Construction to remove the auditorium's entire plaster ceiling and replace it with drywall.
The construction start date is Monday, September 21. Movies will continue to be shown at the Windsor Theatre until construction begins.
The ceiling replacement is expected to take approximately five to six weeks to complete. Movie showings will be suspended during construction.
Drive-up and walk-in popcorn and concession sales will be offered during the temporary closure. Days and times will be Wednesday and Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Ceiling Repair Fundraising
The estimated ceiling replacement project cost is $200,000. The scope of work and pricing are based on conditions reasonably visible and identifiable at the time of estimating. Because existing conditions may not be discovered until work commences, unforeseen issues or additional repairs outside the original scope of work may be identified. Approved additional work will be billed at an extra cost based on the labor, materials, and other expenses required to complete it.
The Windsor Theatre Development Corporation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is accepting donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations. A GoFundMe campaign has also been established, and the corporation is pursuing available grant opportunities. All help is greatly appreciated.
